need help - mini marshall ms-2

yeah, i know...this amp is a joke. i'd like to use it as a monitor for circuit tracing when my REAL amps are on the fritz.
i've been told this circuit should be able to put out pretty decent clean volume.
anyone have any ideas?
i've been plugging it into an external cab as a monitor for pedal or guitar debugging, but the circuit itself just sounds a tad quiet and a little dirty.
i'm looking for more volume and clarity. any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
