| Mounting Alpha pots - stupid question
Sorry if this been asked before... Couldn't find anything... I'm finally putting together my first build. My really newbie question regards the little notch on the Alpha pots. Should I take it off? Does it have a function? The pot come in all crook when I tight it (obviously Thanks!

I've always snipped 'em off, and use a deepwell socket to tighten the nuts while I hole on to the pots so they don't move around.

The little bump beside the shaft bushing? It is a locator. Look on some equipment and on the panel you will see a small hole next to the hole for the shaft. The little bump sits in the hole to keep the pot from rotating. For panels without the extra little hole, snip the locator pin off.

Thanks for that explanation. I already snipped it off. Now's time to bed but I'm hoping to get the amp running tomorrow. I'll report back! Thanks guys!
