| Plate voltage Tung Sol 5881
I read this on tubestore.com "There are some important things to know about the reissue Tungsol 5881 tube before you decide to use it. The Tungsol 5881 is a 23 watt tube and is rated for a maximum plate voltage of 400Vdc" How do you measure plate voltage? Will the voltage change with different tubes? |

Quiescent plate (DC) voltage is measured from the plate (pin) to (the chassis) ground. It may change little with different tubes of the same type. When the grid is being fed with a VAC signal, the plate voltage (on a conventional gain stage) will change in inverse proportion to the grid voltage.
