  • Celestion Vintage 10 speaker question

I see that Celestion has made a 10 inch speaker thats suppose to sound the like vintage 30 12's.
Has any one here tried the new vintage 10's?

I'm getting a pair from Dave at Avatar and wanted to ask anyone whos tried them how they sound?

    Thanks

    Update

Well I ordered 4 of these vintage 10's for a bassman Ten combo with enclosed cab and modded head and I can say they have a very smooth sound, not as much bass as a 4x12 but pretty nice and smooth. good midrange too. Vintage Marshall like sound.

I need to break them but so far, nice......

BTW, Avatar sold them to me for $60.00 each, not a bad price.

Hey, man. Long time no typey.

Yeah, Avatar Speakers is a great place to shop. Their "Hellatone" speakers are actually broken in V30's. They pump club music through them for 15 hours and they sound so much better after the break in. Of course, you can have fun breaking them in, too...Mwahahahahaha!

Speaker cab Idea needed for 4 10 celestions

Well I decided to maybe pull the 4x10 vintage celestions out of the bassman cabinet and I want to build a 4x10 separate cab but need advice on a cab design for these to use for guitar.
The bassman cab was only 11 inch deep and really lacks the kind of bass I want from these 10 speakers.
I've compared these to my 2x12 cab and it has tons more bass than the bassman cab.
I'm figuring maybe building a cab that is 13 inch deep to see if this will help with the bass responce from the Celestion vintage 10's I have.

        Any sugestions???

        Thanks
