i have a really old Mk IV that's been in service for years, and I've never had any of the P-P switches break. in many respects, its built like a tank. the only problem I ever had was in the footswitch -- i managed to bust the LEDs off of their standoffs and short-out the channel switching. overzealous use of the boot, i guess.
if you need replacement parts, you might need to source them from Mesa. those pots are very tiny and it may be hard to find a non OEM replacement for them.
what did you find when you looked up the numbers on the back of the pots?"Stand back, I'm holding a calculator." - chinrest
"I happen to have an original 1955 Stratocaster! The neck and body have been replaced with top quality Warmoth parts, I upgraded the hardware and put in custom, hand wound pickups. It's fabulous. There's nothing like that vintage tone or owning an original." - Chuck H

How in the world are you busting the pots? Are you busting them when you try to adjust them? do you have superhuman strength? Or do they get busted while you're transporting the amp? If its a transport problem then its not a problem with the amp, and a proper road case will solve your problems.

HA HAAAAAAA!!! it didnt cost a million. it was very expensive, though. i was just saying that since its so expensive you figure there would be sturdier pots. it weighs a million pounds already and a road case will put it up to like 2 million. well not 2 MILLION...

I repair this stuff for a living, and I bought a collection of Mesa pull switch controls for the mark series when i opened this shop 13 years ago. I still have them. I have never broken a shaft off a pot in the last 30 years.
AMps tend to break knobs off when something falls on the amp, like a guuitar that was propped up falling over and whacking the knob, or if the amp falls on its face, like when you tripped over a cord, or if the gear trailer hits a train track too fast and all the amps hop on the air and bounce off one another.Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.
