  • Carlsbro Sherwood Owner's Instructions

    Hello

I bought my Carlsbro Sherwood combo [a Cobra 90 variant designed for guitar and microphone] in 1985 and it came with an ON/OFF footswitch for the spring reverb, a pullover cover for the amp to protect it in storage and transit and 5 pages of instructions. In the hope that they may be of some use to someone at some time, I am posting jpeg scans of the instructions.

After 12 years of once or twice a week use, every now and again, the unit would go completely silent. As I was only using as a practice amp at the time, I turned it off, assuming it was some component getting overheated. Then one day in 2004 I went into a guitar shop and the owner had been the manager of Mansfield Carlsbro thru the 80s. He gave me a half can of Servisol Super 10 switch contact cleaner; told me it was a common fault, and to go spray the effects loop send and return sockets and neighbourhood components.
27 years on, I still have the unit, tho I just use it for low volume playback work these days. It is a very pretty, amp & 15 inch speaker, combo and it is one of the family these days. Mark
