Hi Folks, I'm new here.
I am thinking of building a preamp project and I would like a bit of input before I start.
What I am trying to do is build an "alternate" lead channel for my MKIV. I used to have a DC-3 and I liked the dist on that amp much better than the Mark. It was good even at low volumes so I don't think the EL84 power sect was creating the tone I liked ( I may be wrong here tho, only experiment will show).
My Plan:
1. Build the distortion preamp section of the DC 3 from I/P to Phase splitter
2. Inject the O/P of the preamp into the effects return of the MkIV
Anyone see any problems with this ?
Anyone tried it ?
Thanx
Scott
