  • Jcm 800 & p50jm-475

    Hi Everyone!

    I'm in the midst of a JCM 800 build and I'm trying to wire up my Mercury P50JM-475 but I want to make sure that I'm doing it correctly so I don't ruin the expensive piece of metal. I contacted Mercury and they can't help me further.

    In all of the layouts I've looked at I cannot find a PT with the same leads as the 475 so I'm nervous about where I'm putting everything.

    Inputs:
    Blue -> Comes from IEC socket
    Black (120 V) -> Goes to voltage selector
    Orange (230 V) -> Goes to voltage selector
    Yellow (245 V) -> Goes to voltage selector

    Outputs:
    Red (365 V) -> Goes to circuit board
    Black (B+, 0 V) -> Goes to ground
    Red (365 V) -> Goes to circuit board

    Black (6.3 V) -> Goes to V5
    Brown -> Tied off (goes to nothing)*
    Orange (6.3 V) -> Goes to V5

    * This is what the guys at Mercury told me to do if the indicator light didn't have a center

    Thanks a lot for the help in advance. Any insights would be a great help.

    Hi Yohan:
    Sounds like standard Marshall colors.
    I've been building on a 2204 and used the Clasic Tone Transformers.
    See If it's like this one.
    I think your brown will go to ground.

    If there is any doubt try check with a Ohm meter.
    Make sure all power is removed and everything is safe before you check.
    Good Luck,
    Terry
