FilmOsound Amp conversion

I have a 385 Bell & Howell projector amp which I'm recapping. In the process a clear light bulb part #27777 fell off. It hasn't effected the amp and I was wondering if anyone knows what it does in the circuit. It's about the size of a Christmas tree mini lite. On the drawing it is listed as NE-2 and it is covered with a black nylon tube.

Should I be concerned running the amp without it.
