  • Replacing output transformer in an intercom

I recently found a Dukane intercom on Ebay for next to nothing with a great tube complement for conversion to guitar: 6SJ7 preamp, 6SL7 phase inverter, 6V6 push pull with a 5Y3 rectifier. The only problem is the output transformer which has a 15K ohm primary driving a 64 ohm speaker. Assuming everything else works fine, it should be a quick & cheap conversion, but I do plan on replacing the output transformer.

I have some confusion about replacing a transformer like this. Searching for 6V6 push pull transformers leads to all different kinds with a range of primary impedance from 5K for some to the 15K OT of this amp. I don't really understand the concept of how the output stage sets the impedance for the transformer– I assume that it has something to do with the biasing of the output tubes as well as the plate voltage? Can someone help break this down for me? Thanks!
