I need some math help here-- I've reworked the original schematic around the input and tone stack areas, and devised a new grounding scheme that will use a buss. I think the output and PI circuits will probably be just fine as is--so I've left them alone.
But there are puny plate voltages feeding the preamp tubes, designed to amplify mag phono and crystal set signals. Am I right in thinking I need more B+ hitting those plates for headroom and other things that make guitar signals happy? They'll take up to 250V.
Can anyone suggest new B+ values, and explain how to then calculate the appropriate values for the plate resistors to get those B+ values?
Can anyone help this math-impaired noob?
