Today I finally got around to unpacking my box of iron from David Allen.
Power transformer, output transformer, choke, reverb transformer and
some sockets. The parts are good enough looking (only people like us
would see beauty in a transformer) but what really struck me was the
way they were packed in the box. I've sold quite a few things on ebay
and I can be quite thorough when it comes to packing an item for
shipment but David is on another level entirely.
I know this doesn't have much to do with amp building but if David is
this meticulous in everything he does his iron has got to be pretty good
.
I'm building my first amp, and this is my first time dealing with David, so I
don't have much to compare with but it's nice to have things go well in
the beginning.
David was also very easy to communicate with and always replied to email
promptly. Now I'm looking forward to listening to my guitar through his parts.
