Then back to the complication of not having the large truck with lift gate. I’ve already been pondering the question of can I climb into the cab of one of those trucks with my bad leg?

Well after multiple attempts with different Backline gear companies whose trucks and crew frequent the parking lots at CenterStaging where my shop is, I struck out there. Time was fleeting with Nov 15th rapidly approaching (that date at 9PM being the deadline to have all lockers emptied). I went thru speaking with many budget-oriented moving companies with nothing but very expensive solutions to getting my assets saved.

Tom Philips, one of our members contacted me with information about Jeff Rivera who had moved Dumble twice and one other guitar amp company. That sounded encouraging. After some effort I finally reached him and pleaded my case with time rapidly fleeting.

It became clear to me that I would have to rent a car and drive myself the long distance between Granada Hills in the NW end of the San Fernando Valley down to Gardena, about an hours drive

But after sitting down to take a poop in the bathroom and then getting up, I was hit with overwhelming vertigo and sat right back down. I shouted out to the care home nurse for the wheelchair and eventually got taken back to bed where I slept for a good while after the room stopped spinning.

That told me I was no condition to rent that car and attempting driving! So now I was left to try and coordinate all this lockers move from my bed.

The following morning while attempting to take a shower with assistance from the nurse I suddenly found myself on the floor of the bathroom and looking up at a FD paramedic who had been called as I fell to the floor unconscious and wasn’t breathing as my heart had stopped! Got revived by the nurse thankfully.

I was taken butt-naked to the same hospital where I was taken when he I was hit by that car in late September! A blood clot was found in my lungs and removed, spent the next two days in ICU and then moved to the 2nd floor where I still am and needed a blood transfusion yesterday. There is still an imbalance in my blood pressure between my upper and lower extremities that is being sought. But alive and breathing !

And managed to coordinate with Jeff I. getting him access to the lockers thru the storage facility general Mgr. Only the staff over the years lost the key I gave them when BGW went bankrupt and I had to move all of my lab assets from their building back in 2002I think it was. Finally established permission to come there without my being there to view the scope of all my stuff and today he and the crew he gathered are busy pulling the bigger of the two lockers that is actually quite organized, having made use of my lab benches and shelving I had built for me over the years.

I hope all of that is progressing ok. My cell phone just chirped and hope it’s not him with bad news. No it was LifeLock complaining about my using Zelle to post payment to Jeff to start the overwhelming project of relocating my assets into a new space that is actually 80 sq ft smaller! And enough time had elapsed between my moving from Gardena to Glendale where I still live……this detour to the hospital not withstanding!

This is a rough turn with the blood clot. In this light I would encourage you to ONLY do what you feel up to and comfortable with relative to your stress levels. There are bigger things in the spotlight right now. Anything unaddressed or lost can get picked up on the other end. just get yourself stable and well. Circumstances have conspired to make two problematic things happen at once. But why??? Blood clot in your lungs? Maybe this could have been a condition causing a major coronary event if things hadn't gone just as they have.?. If you hadn't been hit by that car. Is it possible that getting hit by that car saved your life from a future cardiac event?

Just take care of yourself now. Coming out on the other side with a life to live is the goal now. And I think it's possible that however tragic things seem to be, with complicated circumstances, it's possible the fates have done all this in your favor.

But of course try to save your shizzle if it's not too much trouble. Just please focus on getting well and put that second. Consider the value of everything at stake. Take solace and find peace.

You are a road warrior!! You never let your situation seem to phase you and that is amazing to us all. Chuck said it best about keeping stress to a minimum. I sure hope they got your stuff relocated and you can finally focus your energy on getting well.

Well, I am still alive. I was finally forced out of the hospital against my wishes and the appeal I filed wasn’t even read as I had only uploaded that written appeal hours before I got the document uploaded! I have been relocated to a third choice nursing home in Sylmar. First impressions when I was brought in still strapped in on a gurney and moved into a room with three other patients and got slid off the gurney and onto the open bed there…..what a shithole!

Within ten minutes I was abruptly moved out of that room, in bed, to another room in a different part of the facility and then rolled into a space at the far end of this room that appeared to be for three patients but there was only one in a bed by the door. Next I knew he was relocated and I later learned I was placed in isolation! I still am in the dark as to why though it appears to have to with the first 3 days upstairs at the hospital after came out of ICU, when I had to poop I had diarrhea for three days. After that solid normal stools, but some bacteria was found that made me contagious or something. Any time nurses came in to give me medication or take my blood pressure readings. etc they dressed up in haze
                        at gowns!

They are still downing that here in this place in Sylmar. Pretty comical really, as I feel fine and have normal stools when I poop. I was told I won’t be subject to this isolation business after Nov 28th. Ho hum…

Since being here, I find my first impressions were wrong. The service here has been vastly superior to what I experienced at the first nursing home back in September and October. So I am now improving as far as it concerns getting on my legs and using the walker to get my left leg exercised, as my surgeon gave the ok to begin after he saw the latest X-rays taken and sent to him at midnight of Nov14

Stopping for physical therapy right now. more to come

So I am now improving as far as it concerns getting on my legs and using the walker to get my left leg exercised, as my surgeon gave the ok to begin after he saw the latest X-rays taken and sent to him at midnight of Nov14

Meanwhile, I did get a man to take on the task of moving the. Intents of the lockers. I thought was strong enough to rent a car and drive down to the Gardena storage facility but quickly learned after suffering vertigo the day before that was going to happen there was NO WAY I WAS GOING TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A CAR WHEN I WAS PASSING OUT WHILE SITTING UP.

So I managed to arrange for the front office to give the key for my two lockers to him. Then they told me they don’t have the key I gave them years ago for my lockers! I have been at this facility for years, and changed locks to wat was on my doors in the mid-nineties. They then locked thro all the rest of the keys for my American Standard locks that were brass and had American forged onto the key blank.

Try still couldn’t find the key, so the only way I could have this man come and have a look at what had to be moved was for them to cut the locks off! Damn!

So he came down to assess the task and agreed to do the move but was unwilling to unload the contents of my larger locker in a fashion that gained access to the now-empty shelves and benches so that infrastructure could be moved into the new locker as it was setup there, which consumes the least space in the new 10’ x 20’ locker and then begin packing everything around and into all the available spaces and then move all the items from the smaller locker into there doing dense packing.

This man wanted no part of that method and moved what he could out of the first locker making just one trip using a truck to small for the task. I was forced to rent a second locker 10’ x15’ to accommodate what he couldn’t fit into my larger locker and then doing what he could with the second locker. He managed to clear my two lockers at the expense of my loosing my. milled lumber I had stored for further construction projects and now have a nightmare fully repack the larger locker as I had intended.

That assumes I will fully recover and am able to walk without passing out and falling to the ground from the issues wam having with my blood pressure. Sigh….

That move cost me $4500 and eliminated the possibility of moving into another recovery home when my new insurance policy runs out. Trying to get onto Metacaid as I have no income coming in and my yearly income should qualify me. But will all that happen in time before where tossed out of here into the streets when the present funds run out. Sigh…..

All this falls back to that stupid bitch who ran me down!

I have photos of the lockers before the were moved and the new more expensive mess I have to redo into the one larger locker than I had

But haven’t figured how to do this from my iPhone.

At least I got the contents moved. I could have had all that done in plenty of time to spare if I hadn’t been run down.

That’s so much going on that is out your control. I once had a wiser man tell me you don’t own something. It owns you. He had a lot of audio gear, guitars & guns. He died and he finally was divorced from his stuff. The responsibility to care for these cherished possessions is something many people will never be capable of doing. They will let the bottom fall out and lose it without a fight. The fact that you are ready to fight for your life is proof that you are going to be okay. I have high hopes for your future Nevets!
