  • Roland BC-30 low output.... any ideas?

It seems ever since I moved to a new area, every amp that's come in has had low output issues. I don't seem to be cracking these cases any faster too. The board is small and reversed, so testing components require dangling the board upside down inside the chassis... which I don't feel comfy doing in this situation. What I can tell is that I have -/+ 28v on the output rails, I need 24v. I did replace the output UPC1188H, as it had signs of a flash burn on the chassis. Working back I should test the drivers but I can't tell which ones they are. I've tested the diodes and all the transistors, even replaced a few. I studied the traces and found no evident problems. The last few amps had tantalums that had gone wild. This amp is a bit newer. I would like it if y'all (I learned one that a few months ago when I moved here) could give me a few pointers in troubleshooting this type of problem. Maybe it's something in the air here, but damn... does anyone own a tube amp? (venting) I haven't had a tube amp on the bench in months and I'm loosing faith.

    Thank you!!
    Gary
