  • Hartke Model 2000 Repair

Hello... I am a new member of this forum and am looking for more specific information about the Hartke Model 2000.

I have two of these amps, one of these is older with the separate fuse holder and missing send/return jacks, and I have dropped it one too many times.

But it appears that only the tube preamp is not working. Thinking it was probably a broken tube, I opened it up and replaced the tube. After that didn't fix the problem, I discovered that there was an orange mylar capacitor with broken leads connected to the tube socket. Looks pretty important.

The capacitor says 474J 100N. I'm not fluent in capacitor labeling, but found enough websites that suggested this is probably a 0.47uf capacitor (5% tolerance). Or is it a 100nF? And what is the max voltage rating that I should be using here?

I'm at a loss for what part to order and where to order it from. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hiya. The labelling is a little ambiguous. That 100N couldn't be 100V could it?Can you see what pin it's connected to on the socket?

hi -- thanks for the quick reply!

The capacitor is labeled C101 on the circuit board and it connects to pin 7 of the tube. The capacitor itself most definitely reads "474J 100N".
