Hi, i’m new here. I’m here because it’s the only place on this planet where someone had the same problem as mine; My son has a Marshall AVT 50X in-cabinet dual channel amplif. OD channel started making a hissing noise - like a class A amp turned 'way up - , while “CLEAN” chanel still sounds OK. It looks like this amplif model was made for Martian people because here in our world, on our good Earth i didn’t find any troubleshooting, useful referance ,schematics etc. I found an old thread : t1322 ( http://music-electronics-forum.com/t1322/ )where Zzzaaappp! Explained the same problem but for AVT 150. I considered the answers he got were a “gold mine”, and I said : “ok i’m lucky, i don’t need to bother somebody with more questions , the amplifiers have the same behavior, and AVT 150 have to be built on the skeletron of AVT 50X” but it is not so easy ! More than , Enzo speak about a TSB with notes how to correct the circuit weakness – all my consideration Enzo for your knowlege , time and energy you spend in this forum.
So please , if someone can help me with some hints, schematics etc. Will be very much apreciated.I worked in the industry a long time ago, i’am good in assambling-dessamsambling i’m not able troubleshootig alone, hope some help and for the magic of music and for my son I’ll pick-up the iron again Oh ! one more question: i read someone changed many times the same OPs , can putting sokets for ICs affect performance (noise ?) i’m not familiar with OPs.
