I am working on a silverface SR .
Weird issues with the verb,

With the Reverb pot on 0 , i can still hear a little verb. When i use the fsw, im able to shut in on and off.
Also with the amp turned up the verb trails into a feedback--like 5K, or a microphonic tube sound.

It will also do this with no fsw plugged in and the Rev pot on 0. Or the pot turned up

Its not a tube. i swapped all of them .

I re-flowed the solder , the Rev pot is getting its ground .
The rca plugs on the fsw are brand new.

the jacks are getting ground

Could it be the fsw jack on the amp for some reason ?

or the reverb pot ?

When you are getting reverb, is it normal sounding and lush? Are the springs free to vibrate or are they constricted? (something rubing against them)
Are the wires reversed? Low impedance from pan goes to reverb input jack on amp.

The verb should work with no footswitch. If it still does its funky thing that would at least take that out of the picture as the problem.

yea, it works with no fsw, just acting strange

Im going to try and test caps/ resistors tomorrow.

Now , i think it cant be the pot if the pot works fine with the fsw inserted...

ive been looking for a long time now--cant find a freakin schematic for this model. its a 75' i was told , with the ss rect. , and the pull boost Master Vol.

anyone know the model of this one?????

Ive been looking at the reverbs on the Twin reverb and the blackface deluxe reverb, and both have very high voltages on the 12at7 plate 440v and 410v respectively.

However the Data sheet for the 12at7 states that 330v is the design max

I know that fender ran the voltages high, though how this affects the plate resistance im not sure... shouldn't it rise with higher voltage?

What value should the transformer primaries be?
Are the both reverb transformers the same specs?

Each amp use also a quiet different cathode resistor value, 460 on the twin and 2200 on the deluxe?

how much does this all change the reverb sound?

What would the reverb sound like with a plate voltage of 250v or even 100v ?

the MV boost switch looks like it goes right to the input of the reverb .

wondering if that switch is affecting things

I swapped out the Reverb pot - No change .

I dont see how the verb can bleed through with the pot on 0
