Peavey Renown Problem

I just got this amp and it has a hum, like mains hum. I run my guitar through my RP 155 into the "power amp in" socket and there was no hum at all. Then guitar into input socket and I get the HUM. Any ideas please??

Is the hum present without anything plugged into the input? If so, sounds like a failed op amp to me. When you plug something into the pwr amp in jack, you seperate the front end from the output section....along with any noise/problems it might have.

Thanx for that, I have now found the problem it was a broken capacitor. Thanx again
