  • Quasi Complementary Output Stage Design Question

Hello Folks. Along with the marshall output stage i'm repairing this
"custom made" head for a friend

It has a Quasi complementary output stage. The funny thing is that instead of ballast resistors this amp has wirewoud resistors that are completely homemade

The question is some pair of this "resistors" measure very low , around 0,13 ohms each and the second pair is over 200 ohms and 300 ohms.

Is there a way to calculate the value of these resistors in a more technical way? and also the power rating? (5W or 10W).

I've included a partial tracing of the schematic.

This amp Has 4 2SD718 Transistors. The amp was poorly made (in the late 70's)

The amp works fine but i don't wanna see this catching fire or getting short during a show or a rehearsal since he's a good friend of mine.

Anyone with any kind of link or book about power stage design using this configuration would be helpful.

    Thanks In Advance
