  • Ashton Viper 100 Head

I have a problem that I don't understand. I was using my Ashton Viper 100 Head last night at a gig, and I turned around to see that the power switch light was off, and one of the EL34 valves was glowing a BRIGHT red, and no sound. Nothing else on the amp was on either. Have I just blown a valve, or is it something else???? We used a 3-phase power box for the gig, then I ran from that a Furman power conditioner, then the Ashton from one plug on the Furman, and my pedal board from another. I couldn't be a power surge, could it? Please help!!!!!

    Ashton Viper red plate

    The amp needs servicing.
Red Plate means a number of things.
It may be just the tube & fuse.
The tube may have taken out the screen resistor.
    It needs to be checked.

Thank you for that! The really sad thing is that I just got it back about 2 weeks ago because it totally died on me, because of all the dust and garbage that had gotten into the electronics of the amp! But, again, thank you for your advice!
