Quieting a noisy fan?

I have an Ampeg SVT-1000 bass amp head that has a noisy fan. Can you suggest ideas on how to quiet it down. Yes I have cleaned the dust out of it and no I don't want to replace it. Should I spray it with WD40 or other lubricants? Thanks!
