  • Hoffman adjustable fixed bias mod question

Hello all, Hope everyone had a great Holiday! I'm installing the Hoffman bias adjust mod on a 67 Princeton Reverb and was wondering if I should replace the original diode as well or wire a new one in parallel with the old just to keep it around. I don't think they make them anymore. Any suggestions? Thanks, frank

If it's a '67, I'd leave the original in if it works. Don't put two together parallel. If one fails and lets current flow backwards, the other one won't do any good to stop it.

Why replace it if it works. It's not like it's going to go bad because it's old and you'll have the original part for authenic.
