I just bought a new 4 x 12 cab for my Line 6 Spider 2 amp head. I hooked it up last night. . .sounded great while volume was on like 1.5-2. Soo after about 2-3 mins of playing I juiced it up a lil to like 3-3.5. . . .about a min after (I was jamming) I turned it up, the head started smoking and shut off. Smoke filled my basement. I unplugged it as this was happening. Today I opened up the head to find that the mother board and everything inside was fine EXCEPT the transformer. . . . .It didnt look unusual but it stunk like burning plastic/tar. . .I searched the internet and found that many others had this problem also. Repair shops by me are charging way too much for repairs for this to be fixed. . . .Ruffly 150 for a 20-30 dollar transformer and I cant seem to get the part anywhere but If I was to know the output of the transformer I could use just about any other one out their ya know. . . . .Everything else seems to be fine but the transformer . . . . . .Any Advise peeps?
