The input circuit is completely wrong. Suggest you rewire V1 as it should be. Refer to vintagekiki post for the circuit digram (v125bass.jpg). If you need to purchase new resistors - purchase 1/4W carbon - do not use metal oxide or ceramic components. Don't think about about firing it up with the new valves until you get the circuits sorted out. Also you will not find any other info under the name plate. You are lucky to still have one as they were generally removed because of sharp corners.

              Thanks vintagekiki,
I will have a good look at this and update my prev diagram as I go...
Lots of TLC needed for this box. Lots of dry joints to attend to 'whilst' waiting for new valves and re-checking the circuitry.

I checked out the speaker switch wiring this morning, as I saw another query on this in another thread.
Ofcourse, I can't vouch that mine is correct, just that it is how it is, on mine...

                Hi Indigo,
Thanks for the heads-up w.r.t. using carbon resistors. (Although I am curious as to why ?).

And 'whilst' I have some time up my sleeve at present, even if it is being used to clean up and re-solder the myriad of dry joints, I am very keen to trace out the input cct around V1 and V2.

                Cheers.

Well, I'm still trying to trace out the differences between what I've got and what I should have. Wow! What a mess ...

In the meantime I have also been searching for a 'users guide' or manual for the amp.
Did these things ever sell with a manual included ?
Does anyone have a manual or a copy of one ?

                  Cheers,
                  Witto.

this is what I think the cct for my VOX125 looks like.

Most of the changes are around the input stage. with more minor changes further down the line.

See the area that id not match the original cct.

This is about all the 'user manual' you will find: http://www.voxshowroom.com/uk/amp/v125.html

Not much to it other than a multi band eq.
