I have an AVT150H and it started intermittently acting up. I really only use the clean channel front-ended with my Line6 POD effects board. Mostly works pretty well with a decent sound. The other day in the middle of practice, the volume got lower and real destorted. I switched it off and on again and it seemed to clear up for a bit but then the problem came back so I switched amps just to get thru practice.
I had time to play around with it on Saturday and thought about trying to change the tube. I pulled the tube from the socket to examine it and put it back in (same tube) - then played the amp for several hours and no problem.
My question is, if the tube is going or just needed re-seated - what kind of symptoms could I expect? Since I really didn't do much of anything here, my guess is the problem will come back and at the worst possible time.
