I gotta get me some of those accurate jacks. Nothing worse that a jack that won't hit its target even when properly aimed.

The understatement of the evening.
Sorry.
yes Tubeswell, we might tell him that.
But I think it's time to advise this person 'with a severe hum problem' to update his Life and Fire insurance.
I would say that's one of the worst cases of hum I've seen in a long time.Last edited by soundguruman; 09-19-2012, 04:32 AM.

Just wrap a load of electrical tape around the bottom of the PT. It will fix the safety issue and be period correct.
On second thoughts, to be sympathetic with the designer's original intent, you should use copper tape and replace the fuse with a .22 cartridge."Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

googled a little bit and apparently not very many of these amps are made, so the chances of finding good guts shots seem purty slim. Warren Haynes uses (or did use them) at least according to the web (he is pictured w/some next to the Boyden guy).

I don't care about about endorsements. I'd rather touch my finger to the hot end of a PT than use one of those amps..."Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo
"Now get off my lawn with your silicooties and boom-chucka speakers and computers masquerading as amplifiers" Justin Thomas
"If you're not interested in opinions and the experience of others, why even start a thread?
You can't just expect consent." Helmholtz

... er, even if you want to!Amazing!! Who would ever have guessed that someone who villified the evil rich people would begin happily accepting their millions in speaking fees!
Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.
