I gotta get me some of those accurate jacks. Nothing worse that a jack that won't hit its target even when properly aimed.
Amazing!! Who would ever have guessed that someone who villified the evil rich people would begin happily accepting their millions in speaking fees!

Oh, wait! That sounds familiar, somehow.

There's nothing quite like a switch chosen for accuracy.
I mean man, that's like dead on dialed in.
when it's ON, there's no question.
And when it's off, whoa nelly!

            The understatement of the evening.
            Sorry.
yes Tubeswell, we might tell him that.
But I think it's time to advise this person 'with a severe hum problem' to update his Life and Fire insurance.
I would say that's one of the worst cases of hum I've seen in a long time.

Just wrap a load of electrical tape around the bottom of the PT. It will fix the safety issue and be period correct.

On second thoughts, to be sympathetic with the designer's original intent, you should use copper tape and replace the fuse with a .22 cartridge.
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

I laughed so hard, I just about busted a nut.
My favorite thread of all time.
                  You guys made triple Gold.

googled a little bit and apparently not very many of these amps are made, so the chances of finding good guts shots seem purty slim. Warren Haynes uses (or did use them) at least according to the web (he is pictured w/some next to the Boyden guy).

Hey, that's proprietary. You don't want anybody duplicating 'that' sound.

I don't care about about endorsements. I'd rather touch my finger to the hot end of a PT than use one of those amps...
"Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo

"Now get off my lawn with your silicooties and boom-chucka speakers and computers masquerading as amplifiers" Justin Thomas

"If you're not interested in opinions and the experience of others, why even start a thread?
You can't just expect consent." Helmholtz

No chance. Remember that according to the web site, each component is hand selected for it's individual unique properties. No way to duplicate that.

... er, even if you want to!

Maybe we should send Dick Boyden a link to this thread?
He would probably deny ever seeing that amp

seeing multiple Boydens in a similar build condition would seem to add to that chassis state being normal (and harder to deny as an aberration). Maybe it's Warren Haynes (or his tech) that needs to see this thread (if he actually does use one regularly).
