I recently got hold of a Champ that wasn't working. I found the problem to be a crack in the circuit board which was stopping power getting through and replaced the input jacks so it now works!
The problem I now have is the noise. On the clean channel it is there all the time and the o'd channel it disapears when the volume is on 0. It is a loud buzz that gets louder the more you turn it up.
One thing I did do was take out a capacitor in parallel with a resistor that ran between the pre-amp plugs as this wasn't on the circuit diagram. I am assuming that this is some kind of mod that was put on?
Any help with how I can rectify it would be much appreciated.
