It seems fairly obvious to me that a bias probe will be useless in setting the mosfet bias on an Ampeg SVT 3 PRO bass head. I'm pretty certain the bias is not set correctly. Would I need an O-scope to do this? I've read that if you set the bias to "hot" it can easlily fry the mosfet - I don't want this. So, even if it sounds ok to my ear, I wouldn't know if it's set way to "hot".
