I am getting distortion on the 100 watt setting but when switched to 50 watts the amp sounds cristal clear even at full power.new valves and caps have been fitted and bias checked at around 33ma 100 watt setting 37ma at 50 watt setting.i have also run amp with another speaker but stil the same.Anyone got any ideas.

What happens on the 100W setting if you remove the pair used in the 50W setting?
What happens if you swap tube pairs between the 50 and 100 settings?
If that doesn't point to a bum tube or two, then I'd be looking at the solder joints and components around those two sockets ... and maybe the individual tube socket pin snugnesses.
