Yup I remember working for a shop years ago where I would go down and pick up/drop off broken gear. I remember one of the only items I refused service on was a powered monitor. I had no schematic but mostly I didn’t want to deal with the disassembly and reassembly of such a unit. There was all sorts of adhesives used to make the unit hold together best. Once you bust open some of these units some of the assembly is now not as effective.

Then it sounds like you have an epoxy nightmare all over the circuit board. Much like you find in powered studio speakers that black stuff can turn conductive. Look for videos about KRK Rokit speakers black goo. But many of these repairs make for a lot of labor.

When the going gets weird... The weird turn pro!

Have you tried to contact M Audio? They have sent me service lit in the past.

I suppose there's little chance; but, has anyone discovered an EX66 Schematic? (I tried M-Audio. In the process I was told they don't even supply them to their servicers.)
