This would be a nice feature, I can see if the tubes are lighting, if they aren't then..I need to know why, so I can't see any need for a mains switch.
Mainly [pun] I just would like to know when AC is present at the wall plug/in the amp.
So I hardwired one right to the IEC outside lugs, and twisted two wires about 6 or 7'' long and routed them along the chassis corner to where the lamp is.
Guessing draw is so so as not to introduce anything 'funny' into signal path.
Just wondering if it's 'done', I see LED's on amps but I wonder are any of them AC?
