I have a G40V, and have been mostly satisfied with the tone. I run it clean, and even with the bass cranked all of the way up and treble all the way down it's still pretty bright. I've read the G40V_mod.PDF from Steve A's site, and intend to try swapping some components particularly the treble cap. I don't care about adding switches for different tones, I just want one good clean tone. I would appreciate any suggestions. I'd been using this amp to drive 2 x 12's in a stereo wired sealed 4x12 cab, so it had more bottom end with that cab. Now I'm downsizing it to a 1x12 combo cab, and it needs tweaking.
