    i'm sure i'm misunderstanding something but in the typical marshall configuration, the gain stage is biased warm with 100k rp and 820 rk and the signal is clipped at the grid. then the opposite side of the wave gets clipped at the plate resulting in symmetrical clipping?

    has anyone ever tried cold biasing the gain stage of a dc coupled cathode follower? how would this affect things? more asymmetry?
