    tried to figure out what I could from the pics I saw here:

    not very good since the resolution is poor and my tube circuit understanding is limited. Originally, I wanted to see how they used the 6AL5 since I have a bunch of these dinky rectifier tubes. And also, (in a old GP mag. review) one of these according to their account helped to fatten up the tone of an old Super Lead, so that was another reason why I was interested. Though there are a lot of question marks, the dry signal path purportedly imparting fat tone appears to have a paralleled 12AX7 plus a tone (maybe part of the "secret"?). The power supply (I'm guessing) has low value filters (low max. uF for the 6AL5) and a large value choke (doesn't need to be rated for high current since only 2x 12AX7 plus 1x EF86 on B+ line) and high value low current chokes (say 30H or so) seem to be affordable as far as I could tell checking out some transformer vendors). (Sorry about the "low tech" drawings.)
