  • Gibson GA-9 clone

    Hello all!
I recently acquired a very old Dickerson/Magnatone amp as a basket case. It resembles a M-192-5 but (I believe) was built to amplify an internal phonograph and 2 instruments/microphones. The amp appears to be push/pull with two 6v6 output tubes.
I would like to gut this amp and build a Gibson GA-9. The GA-9 uses a 6SJ7 preamp tube and drives two 6v6 output tubes in parallel single-ended fashion. (This amp already used an octal tube-a 6SN7 in the preamp).
I will have to replace the p/p output transformer with a single-ended OT. But I am not entirely sure what the primary should be for parallel 6v6's. Could someone enlighten me as to what changes take place when output tubes are driven in parallel like this?
