So what was the cause of the crackling noise you described in the previous post?

I replaced a handful of resistors. That cleaned up the crackling.

I also found a mis wired cap in the trem circuit. Now the trem works.

Still has all or nothing with the volume control. That seems to be by design. Trem is working and has a nice sound but im not getting much depth.
