Has anyone ever tried to use a 12A*7 as a twin rectifier diode? I was wondering about bullet-proofing a pre I'm cookin' up to survive EMPs (inside joke with my uncle ;P)

I have used one half of a 6SN7GT as a half wave rectifier, and the other half as an
amp. or oscillator. Never tried as a full wave, it would not carry much of a load
    anyways.

Not so much as a power rectifier, but in the signal path, like a detector in a radio circuit, or something.
