  • In at the deep end....

I've acquired a bunch of Valves... I'm very new to the amp building process, but build I must. I realise that there are infinite configurations etc. I'd like to build a guitar amp head to power a 4 x 12 cab and I'd also like an amp for my turntable too. What I'm after is a bit of guidance really, If anyone can help me with a decent config - here's the list of what I have (I have at least 4 of each) I don't know if any of them are suitable/fit for purpose but a guiding light would be most appreiciated: Many thanks in anticipation...

Many uses for that list. Fender 5E3 is first one to mind.
Have a look at some circuits to see what you would like to try:
    The Blue Guitar

The 12BH7 are useful little valves, The Blackstar HT5 uses one.
    They are good reverb drivers.
I have built a firefly type amp to get 3 watts PP from one 12BH7.

This small stereo amp uses them also:

EZ90 (aka 6X4) is a cool little rectifier for single-ended and low-power push-pull amps. I think there were a couple of Gibsons to use them.

Also, been to the Tube Data Sheet Locator yet?

          How about a transistor/valve hybrid ?

You can get them on ebay. Plenty of power but with a valve sound.
If you ask them nicely they might sell you one without the valve a bit cheaper.
