I just bought a couple of 6P3S to stick in one of my 5f6A derivatives. I'm trying to find info on the max plate dissipation. (I can't read the datasheet - its all in Russian - see attachment - which I scanned). I guess I should bias it like a 6L6G for now. (i.e.: assume its a 19W max tube?) Anyone got any better guesses? (They seem to be holding out okay so far biased at 13.6W)

20 watts, he says. Like a lot of these Russian tubes, there are different versions with a different suffix.

re: the pictured tube(1st post), to my memory they were basically a 6L6A or B. If you can get them cheap, the old MIL versions might be a really good deal.

This looks like the same tube that Groove Tubes sold several years back as a 6V6HD. Not the same tube as the other Russian '5881'."In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is."

Well they were only $14 each. He has the 6P3Se ('5881') version for $20 each, so that sounds good enough to me.Building a better world (one tube amp at a time)
