Rhodesplyr, to my understanding, that is indeed why they put the grid connection on top. (Believe it or not, the thing about heavy electrons was a troll. )

Here's what the (British) National Valve Museum has to say about the 6J7/EF37.

"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

Well, electrons are particles which *do* have weight, and are subject to gravity forces like anything that has mass.

Hey!! , even *photons* have mass too (even them, who are in the boundary between particles and energy) and light rays are bent by gravity forces.

Gravity never repels anything, isn't that curious.... The more you think about it, the more mysterious it all becomes.

Richard Feynman was full of stories and funny anecdotes. In one case his father asks him "Richard, you've become famous and all, so tell me like a 5 year old what is light exactly". He replied "well dad nobody knows and the guys out there who say they know, are lying.". Feynman was a giant.

I know :-) I don't know everything about electronics, but my Ph.D. in Literature means I can spot sarcasm at fifty paces.

I'm guilty of doing the same thing myself. I tried once to convince one victim that his amp would only sound its best if he aligned the output transformer properly with respect to true magnetic north. And my grandfather, the engineering professor, was a diabolical practical joker. He once gave me a metal detector for my birthday, and, buried in the yard, we found a container with all sorts of Danger/Toxic/Hazard markings written on it. Ultimately, there was a $20 bill inside. He had buried it there months before as part of his plan.

By the way, if you need any old stock tubes, a friend of mine in a blue police box has promised to take me on a shopping trip.

            Who?

            Sorry Doctor. Who?

The mass of a photon is approximately (and maybe exactly) zero. They exist in a curved spacetime. You guys are so old-fashioned with your gravitational forces.

Jump off two stories of your favorite staircase and then tell me gravity is obsolete. Far as I know, planes are still crashing

And I suppose they also blow up since they are phlogisticated.

If you call JP4 aircraft grade fuel "Phlogisto" yes, they burn because they are full of it.
OK, even a 1/4 full wing tank will still make a nice fireball.
There´s also a very hot Rock Band called Phlogisto which ..... oh, sorry, I guess I´m digressing

I had a friend with a degree from Caltech explain me to that Ohm's Law wasn't really correct in terms of quantum mechanics. I granted that he was probably correct, and he agreed that it wouldn't help him fix an amplifier.

First circuits book I ever read said right at the beginning "these formulae only valid for circuits smaller than XY square meters area". I thought that's fine with me if a full stack fits in it. Good enough for tube amps
