CS-3 OP-AMP swap out

I have made two adapters for DIP to SIP IC mod for my CS-3. I am wondering if I need to change both opamps or just one, and if only one which one? Does anyone have this mod? I have the Burr Brown Dual op's and I am ready to install because I have crackling in my current pedal after a Monte Allums MOD. I I contacted him and he said the problem was with the Opamp and offered to sell me a upgrade kit? I wonder if his mod caused this problem just to generate more sales. Anyway, I have the adapters and chips an I understand that the BB chips in this pedal with the Opto MOD is supposed to be awesome. Can anyone help?
