Cool Android apps

I thought I'd write about the apps that I've found to be indispensible on my Android tablets. (If you've found something better shout it out and I'll give it a shot.)

The first one I recommend is Android Tuner (now called 3C Toolbox.) One of the biggest issues with Android tablets- I call them my aPads!- is battery life or the lack thereof. I've tried quite a few CPU managers which slow down the CPU (or CPUs) when the full speed is not needed. Android Tuner/3C Toolbox is the only one I know of that turns
multiple processors on and off as needed which can make a big difference with quad processors.

Yes they are and yes they do. 3C Toolbox doesn't require a rooted device although lacking root limits its capabilities. (I still haven't gotten up the nerve to try to root one of my Samsung Tab 4 7.0 tablets since they still are selling new for $130+ even though they've been out for over 2 years.)
