wiring of o/p jack re:ovation legend 1717

I need to replace the o/p socket on an ovation legend 1717.Any I have replaced before have been
standard stereo sockets i.e. 3 connections,sig:shield:ground for batt.via mono jack plug.
This socket has 4 connections.(sig:shieldther 2 to switch on batt.,I assume.)Would it be o.k.
to ground one of the batt.switch wires and use a standerd stereo jack?
