Checking nanomag pickup?

Hi All, Does anyone know how to troubleshoot a Shadow nanomag pickup. It's in an Epiphone AJ 500 ME. I'm getting no signal from the nanomag PU. When I swap jacks with the nanoflex(piezo) PU on the preamp, I get signal. This has me believing the problem is not in the preamp, but in the nanomag PU itself. Also the 2nd jack on the guitar body was loose & bouncing around inside the guitar. I remounted the jack, but only have signal from the endpin jack. What is the purpose for this 2nd jack? I can find very little info on this system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tested DC resistance on the nanomag? If you are plugging the nanoflex into the input for the nanomag and getting output that would indicate a problem with the nanomag.

If I remember correctly the two outputs are for stereo use- two cables to two amplifiers, one the nanomag the other the nanoflex. You have to have a cable plugged into both jacks to activate this, otherwise both signals are sent to one jack.

Thanks, That's what it was. I checked it at the plug and it was open. Was able to unscrew the collar on the plug and found the wire broken where it's soldered to the tip terminal of the plug. Now both jacks work. Both pickups thru the endpin jack, and the nanomag only thru the other one. Odd setup, but it works OK.
