This thread seems to be the most info on minis.
I was thinking about building the mojo kit.
    The assembly looks easy enough.
What I'm lacking is real wiring info.
    I have 42 SPN, 42 PE, 42 Formvar, and 43 PE.
For a mini neck P/U would I be messing up if I used 42PE,wound to 6-6.2k?
All wiring info and recommendations for a mini neck P/U appreciated.

The Mojo mini kit look fine, very much like the allparts (possibly the same parts???). I have used the allparts and I like the result. The bobbins are a tad to tall to be "vintage correct", but I think Allparts, Mojo, GJ uses the same bobbins so there are slim chanses that you will find a suplyer with "better" bobbins. Dont wind the pickups to resistance. Wind them to about 4250 turns per bobbin for a neck pickup and you will make excellent sounding minis with any one of that 42 wire you have. I'll need to check my notes to se what DCR a 4250 turns mini would end up with. I'll try to check that later

I second that! Resistance of the coil is only useful when comparing two same size coils wound with the same wire.

I would think a bobbin that size would come out around 3K-ish with 4250 turns. So that sounds right.

I think the closed cover minis are a sexy looking pickup.

          Thanks guys.
I would still like to know ballpark DCR when I'm done.
I was leaning toward the 42 P.E., but I guess I could get more of the SPN on there.

OK, the last one I made was 4250 turns per bobbin, no offset in turn count (bridge pickup...) and using 42 SPN with medium wire tension. DCR = 6.08 K. But you need to realize that the same turn count, the same wire and a higher wire tension might produce a higher DCR.
