  • Anyone use this eBay seller?

Stumbled across this on the eBay. Price seems good compared to the handful of other places I order products from that I've seen it for sale at, but I haven't really looked around yet. Free shipping helps. I'm in need of more 42, but don't see myself winding enough to warrant dropping a large amount of change on a huge spool, so a 2 1/2 lb roll seems a decent quantity. I'm still experimenting, and not chasing after a vintage repro or anything, just looking to wind my own p'ups for my guitar builds.

with the price of copper at this time it is way overpriced. roughly 30 bucks a lb. you can buy the good stuff for that price and get it from a reliable dealer. I bought a 5lb roll of plain enamal for a lot less a lb than this stuff. It is the red poly solderon stuff he is selling, no enamal in sight that I can tell.

I've never used them, but without knowing what brand of wire it is, and what the outside diameter is (min-nom, nom-max, etc) I would pass. Check out baewire on e-bay, or phone Whitmore Wirenetics. I think an average price is about $14 a lb for a 10lb spool.

Not sure what type of insulation you are after but this was an interesting statement at the end of his disclaimer:

        "ALL MAGNET WIRE IS COATED
OR OFTEN SAID TO BE ENAMELED, THOUGH THE MODERN COATINGS ARE NOT NECESSARILY ENAMEL."

The correct line would be: ALL MAGNET WIRE IS COATED
OR OFTEN SAID TO BE ENAMELED (by those who don't know any better), THOUGH THE MODERN COATINGS ARE NOT NECESSARILY ENAMEL.
