We have an ad from Guitar World hanging up in our shop of some of the most hideous looking instruments I've ever seen! I'll have to scan it and post it here. It looked like someone just scribbled some weird shapes free hand and cut them out! Then they were in those primary colors that Kramer was doing when they still had aluminum necks.
Your new electrics are much nicer of course. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Only thing ugly about them was your dad picking some of the colours out of your kiddies paint box. Flametops were fine and they did play good. I PDI/ed all of the ones Gerard Barte imported into the uk in the 80s and 90s and found now't much wrong with them. Only catering with what the pretty boys at that time wanted. Maybe time to go again, which from the sounds of your pickup forays is what you are up to.
