    I agree.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Thanks for the response Jason, really appreciate the feedback.

I've spent a few bucks gathering instructional materials over the last few months, and there's certainly a wide gap with what's available out there. Most of the more comprehensive books are those age-old gems that really give insight for the beginners and intermediates into why certain things are done the way they are (Melvin Hiscock's book comes to mind).

I tend to like these types more, which teach "What to do" instead of "What to make".

That said, I'm looking forward to getting a copy of yours once it's re-released.

      Thanks again!

Annnnndddd here is one book I can tell you is real. I know it is because it's the one I sold years ago. I put those coffee stains on it.

        Book...

I expect to see a small rash of sales between now and the time Jason gets the new version up and running.

you know i could make fists full of money- i have a box of pages and covers that just need punched and ring bound- sighn my name on them and sell them for 200 to 500 each, maybe more signed- put some cryptic notes in them and sell them as Jasons secrets- i have had a box full of them for years but I just cant do that- its BS. Let the guys that have genuine copies sell thiers but I get drug into the fake and bogus stuff- people call and email me to verify copies or to narc off guys selling unathourized CDs or whatever format. you have to patrol your copyrite to keep it- I always wanted that right in reserve for a future re-publishing but I wanted to do it on my time, now I feel pressured to do something. after what 10+ years, no one has written anything like it????? whats with that?
One of the guys that use to be on this forum -way before it was on ampage -wanted me to hand over my book as an introduction to a book he was going to write that was going to be "better" than what I had. Basically take my book and add some on top of it Of course I didnt go for it -and a shame- his book never materialized. How many people have said they were writing a book on pickup making?
Schawb knows what it takes to write a book, I had no idea when I started how much effort and time it would take, I had a stack of paper almost two feet tall to write a book 49 pages long - a stack of paper that tall before anything was ever bound and released. Talking about re-writes and countless edits. By the time I did the third edition it was three feet tall! Serious! I have new found respect for people that write novels- I just wrote a short "simple"
          technical book!
Really I am not an asshole like some guys make me out to be- most of you guys know that so thanks.

I thought about writing a book on pickups and the different options out there as far as making them, but I haven't gotten around to winding myself yet, so it would have to be based on other people's knowledge, and there would be a fine line with the info that winders would care to share in a book like that I think, and the effort required to write a book like that is a LOT, so I got lazy...haha. Besides, people probably wouldn't want to buy it.....

I just put my copy up for sale, posting here only in hopes of Jason not having any validation request hassles.

I hope you make alot of $ on it!
Its actually pretty easy to spot copies, the artwork lines on the covers isnt nearly as dark and bold as the originals- the covers wre printed with a specific type of printing machine= photo copies dont come out right and the photos inside the book- if you photo copy them they get prominate horizontal lines in the images- also they usually use a lighter weight paper so you can see photos bleeding thorugh on the other side of the page you are looking at
So there you go- easy way to spot copies. also if its super clean- be suspicious and if the guy has more than one or two copies- its most likely bogus.
Most of the people i have contacted that were selling copies were just being a little clueless, only a few have been aggessive and deviant. generally if I contact someone they are apologetic and admit to being a bit stupid about it.

Thanks, me too. I priced it where, for any less, I'd rather keep it. Trick will be getting any proceeds out of PayPal without the sig other noticing (fat chance of that).
