They try and cram 5 strings over those things too. I've heard people complain that the outside two strings are weak, and John H comes on the forum and says they are fine as is. Apparently he plays one.

That would be a VERY narrow 5 string.

There was about 6dB drop on the G string and about a 12dB drop on the B.
This bass was totally useless as it came from the factory. The worst finish work I've seen in decades, looked like it was put together in a Jr.High chainsaw safety class. The fingerboard had big chunks taken out and filled with something that didn't quite look like feces but very close.

Just how much do they charge for one of these?

Funny... just last night I saw a documentary where an Indian fellow was interviewed who holds the world's record for being kicked in the groin.... 43 times!
